Easy Sew Plarn Tote Shopping Bag

This is how to sew a plarn tote. You can do this with any fabric, just hem the raw edges or line it. With weaving, you can make the fabric the exact size and no hemming required. Weave plarn (or any material) fabric about 18" - 19" wide (your preference how wide). Make a 1" header, weave 34" and then make another 1" header for a total of 36" of cloth. Zig-zag the headers to keep them from unraveling. Make handles, you'll need 2. Your preference as to width and length. I make them anywhere from 42" or longer and about 2" wide, each. I find that wide handles is easier on the hands, especially of you're going to use these bags for grocery shopping. These bags can handle a LOT of weight. Sew on the handles to the right side. Sew the side and bottom seam. You can use the tote as is or square off the corners. See video for squaring off the corners. Enjoy your tote!

Repurposing materials for weaving

Weaving materials where you least expect it! Plastic bags, t-shirts, socks, pant legs...anything that's a tube can be cut into a continuous strip for weaving.

Pick Up Inkle Weaving

OK, not Rigid Heddle Weaving but weaving is weaving and I don't know a weaver with only one loom! LOL A couple of people on the Facebook Page mentioned they are new to inkle loom weaving so I thought I'd create this quickie demo for making a design on an inkle loom by picking up selected pattern threads. It's really easy once you see how it's done. I hope this video helps someone. Enjoy and happy weaving!

Part 2 Warping Back to Front

This is the next part of warping back to front. After beaming your warp, move the lease sticks towards the front of the loom right behind the shafts. This makes it easy to see which thread comes next in the threading order. Threading is even easier if you count the SHAFTS and NOT the heddles ;)
